Streamlining Club Administration Processes
Like many Football clubs around New Zealand, Maori Hill Junior Football Club knew there must be a better way. The club's reliance on their previous registration portal, along with spreadsheet administration system was very time-consuming.
“On average, at least 50% of parents would struggle with the poor sign-up experience,” says Jonathan, the Club Captain. This left him to manually register large volumes of the children, consuming huge amounts of time at the beginning of the season when there was so much else to do in preparing for the season ahead. The use of multiple systems meant nothing was linked, and Jonathon was left with double handling data and ended up with duplicated lists to do his job.
Maori Hill JFC finished the 2020 season and began searching for a better solution. It took less than three months to decide to move their club's administration onto Friendly Manager, which saw them onboarded with the Friendly Manager club management system in December.
When discussing their onboarding and training experience Jonathan described it as “great” and the support staff at Friendly Manager as “really supportive.” Jonathan reports, “It was great having the meetings via zoom and the quick response from questions asked via tickets.”
When talking about the ideal timing to shift systems Jonathan commented, “November would have been the best time, however, December was fine and gave us sufficient time to get everything set up and communications going. [Along with] the website set up, which is fantastic and very easy to use”.
Jonathan mentioned that throughout the season “Pretty much every feature provided a benefit. The registration process is brilliant, [which has been] supported by feedback from our coaches and parents. The mailer function is so easy to use, all our coaches have found this to be excellent. The visibility you get of your players with the easy-to-use search engines, filters, reporting, I love the alert section when details are missed. I have also found the help documents very useful along with the fantastic support from the FM team.”
Maori Hill JFC are stoked with the efficiency in having one software eco-system connected to all the platforms they use including Comet, Stripe, and Xero. This means no more spreadsheets, no more double handling, and Jonathan and his team are saving hours on administration tasks.
