Create a Public Registration Competition

In this session, we'll demonstrate how to add a competition with public registration:

  1. Adding a Competition:
    • Navigate to the competitions section and click the "Add Competition" button.
    • Name the competition, ensuring it's distinct, especially for recurring events.
    • Select the sport from the dropdown menu, noting that it can't be changed later.
    • Choose whether to use default player and official forms or request changes.
    • Set the competition dates, including signup and player cutoff dates.
    • Specify exclusion cutoff if needed.
    • Enable options like requiring referees or notifying players when added to a team.
    • Select "Allow Public Team Registration."
    • Click "Save" to create the competition.
  2. Adding a Division:
    • After creating the competition, click the "Add Division" button.
    • Name the division clearly, possibly based on age groups or gender.
    • Choose options like score entry, age cutoff, and gender mix.
    • Set the fee for the division and its due date.
    • Decide whether to display overall places on your website.
    • Click "Save" to create the division.
  3. Further Notes:
    • You can add multiple divisions to your competition, each running on the same dates.
    • Consider setting up a new competition for divisions that run on different dates.
    • Team managers or school and club managers can register teams on your website by selecting the competition, division, and following the registration process.
