In this session, we'll demonstrate how to add a competition with public registration:
- Adding a Competition:
- Navigate to the competitions section and click the "Add Competition" button.
- Name the competition, ensuring it's distinct, especially for recurring events.
- Select the sport from the dropdown menu, noting that it can't be changed later.
- Choose whether to use default player and official forms or request changes.
- Set the competition dates, including signup and player cutoff dates.
- Specify exclusion cutoff if needed.
- Enable options like requiring referees or notifying players when added to a team.
- Select "Allow Public Team Registration."
- Click "Save" to create the competition.
- Adding a Division:
- After creating the competition, click the "Add Division" button.
- Name the division clearly, possibly based on age groups or gender.
- Choose options like score entry, age cutoff, and gender mix.
- Set the fee for the division and its due date.
- Decide whether to display overall places on your website.
- Click "Save" to create the division.
- Further Notes:
- You can add multiple divisions to your competition, each running on the same dates.
- Consider setting up a new competition for divisions that run on different dates.
- Team managers or school and club managers can register teams on your website by selecting the competition, division, and following the registration process.
